History of Evenlode

Evenlode was opened in 1969 as the first open-plan Primary School in South East Wales. The population of the school has risen dramatically in the last 30 years, from 240 in 1986 to the current 450. However the school building has had to change to accommodate more pupils and the original open-plan design has disappeared and made way for more conventional classrooms.

In January 2009 Mr S Rees joined Evenlode. Mr Rees has previously been a Headteacher in two other primary schools in Gwent.  Mrs H Jones has worked at Evenlode for many years and became our Deputy Head in 2010.

Over the years the standards which Evenlode expects has been reflected by its continually high results, making Evenlode the most popular Primary School in Penarth. A fact of which we are very proud!
